These
bushes were just enchanting in the very strong wind. I knew that
one picture wouldn't come close to showing their charm - movement
was critical! So I got out my new animation toy. Then I sat here,
chatting on the phone and absorbing the ambiance, for quite a while.
It really felt much like this looks, wind buffetting the truck and
me and the plants and the clouds...
Oklahoma
The
Moon over Clinton OK - I came up over a hill, and there it was:
big, fat, yellow, reclining at its leisure directly over Clinton.
New Mexico
On
I-40 a bit east of Laguna NM. Just beyond these stone
barriers is a "Gusty Winds May Exist" area. Then comes
the Laguna Pueblo, with a rest area that doubles as a scenic view
(of the pueblo) and occasionally triples as a crafts stand.
The
descent into Albuquerque - Here I'm just beginning the stunning,
sweeping descent into Albuquerque from the east.
Northern Arizona
66
Motel in Holbrook - The rooms are clean, but don't expect to
take a look at them before you pay! Apparently there are just too
many irresponsible, rowdy, devil-may-care motel-room-lookers around
this part of the country.
Part
of the Rodeo-Chediski burn area - Photos don't even come close
to showing the devastation of some areas. This is between Heber
and Show Low.
